For many patients, implants are the most effective way to replace missing teeth. An implant made of titanium or a titanium alloy is inserted into your jaw. A false tooth is made which is screwed into the implant. It is possible to have some or all of your teeth replaced by implants.

Although a more expensive option, implants are becoming increasingly popular, as they have many advantages over bridges and dentures as a way of replacing lost teeth. Dental implants do not suffer from decay, they are much more secure in the mouth than dentures, and adjacent teeth do not need to be drilled as they do for bridges or crowns.
